UPDATE: There is a form that will need to be filled out for each child. They will be available on site, but to speed things up, please download from here and bring the completed form to the clinic. “Mack Brady Clinic Release Form”
Please join us on Sunday January 18th at 4:30 pm in Holuba Hall on Penn State’s University Park campus for our third annual Mack Brady Memorial Clinic. This is a soccer clinic for children 12 years and under and will of course have special focus on goaltending skills. We will also have a special “gift” from Penn State Soccer for two attendees in honor of Mack’s birthday (1/16/04). The clinic is free but t-shirts will be available for purchase and donations for the fund will be accepted at the door.
This clinic started just days after Mack died. We received an incredible number of emails and messages from goalkeepers and coaches from around the world, including 7 MLS keepers and Tim Howard. Several of the coaches asked us to let them know if they could do anything and I was at a loss. I said, “you tell me.” One, Todd Hoffard then goalkeepers coach for the NY Red Bulls, suggested a clinic. Our Penn State Men’s and Women’s coaches and players along with Todd and then-newly drafted Andrew Wenger (now with the Philadelphia Union!) put the clinic together within 10 days, coinciding with Mack’s birthday. It was a wonderful way to celebrate his life and has become an annual tradition.
I hope that you can make it! Please share the word as broadly as you can with as many youth programs in the region as possible. The more the merrier! It is all about fun and the love of the game.
