Sunday, 17 September 2017 was the 5th Annual Mack Brady Match, it was the first loss for our Penn State Men, but they played an incredibly strong and determined game against the #3 ranked Maryland Terrapins. The Terps had only dropped 2 matches and drew one in the last 28 matches so we always knew it would be a tall order. Throughout it all the men played hard and our Mack Brady Goalkeeper, Evan Finney, was outstanding, making a number of key stops and smothering two attacks to keep a first half shutout.
Coach Warming once told Mack that “a goalkeeper’s best games are going to come in losses” because you will be tested again and again. It was true against the Terps and, while not a win, Finney had an outstanding Mack Brady Match night.
Elizabeth, Izzy, and I want to thank you all again for supporting the Mack Brady Fund and for coming out for the Match! The 6th Annual Mack Brady Soccer Clinic will be 7 January 2018 at the University Park campus. Stay tuned for details!
